When we speak and pray in tongues it refreshes and renews us spiritually because it cuts out our thoughts in the natural. It allows our spirit to speak directly to God. It also confuses the enemy, because the enemy cannot understand what we are saying. Only God can understand or someone who has the gift of interpretation of tongues. We often get in our own way when praying and even pray ignorantly at times (I know I have). Just as God is listening to our prayers, so is the enemy. The enemy will use our prayers against us, which is why praying and speaking in tongues is necessary so he can't understand our prayers; therefore he can't use them against us. Praying in tongues also unlocks the prophetic and allows God to share the secret things with us. Speaking and praying in tongues is a must for all believers in The Body of Christ and should be part of our daily prayer life.
