Cross Walk is a project about The Bible started in April 2023 that contains comics and resources. The goal of this project is to share God's Word and help you grow closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! The comics have light-hearted jokes and the resources page is constantly growing with material. God's Word is the primary focus, while the illustrations and commentary are secondary. Praise God and enjoy!

Communion Scripture Verses

Matthew 26:26-28 KJV 26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. 27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Mark 14:22-24 KJV 22 And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body. 23 And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it. 24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

Luke 22:15-20 KJV 15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: 16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. 17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: 18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. 19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. 20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

1 Corinthians 11:23-26 KJV 23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

John 6:53-58 KJV 53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. 58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

1 Corinthians 10:16 KJV The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?

Body & Blood of Jesus
  • The bread represents The Body of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The bread is a representation of everything Jesus is and has. It's His wholeness, health and abundance of resources which is all at our dispoal if we choose to receive it. He is fully commited and will freely give to each of us all that He is and has.
  • The cup of wine represents The Blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Blood empowers the promises made with the bread. It is an unbreakable bond between mankind and God.
God's Covenant with Us

God's Promises are Yes and Amen

2 Corinthians 1:20 KJV For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Joint-heirs with Jesus

Romans 8:16-17 KJV 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

1 John 4:17 KJV Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Authority

Matthew 28:18 KJV And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

1 John 4:4 KJV Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Luke 10:19 KJV Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Wholeness and Healing

1 Thessalonians 5:23 KJV And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 53:5 KJV But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Life and Abundance

John 10:10 KJV The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

The Purpose of Communion
  • It's a covenant meal of promise with The Lord Jesus Christ. We become one with Him.
  • It's a time to give thanks to God The Father for His Son Jesus and remember His sacrifice on the cross for us.
  • It's a time of fellowship with God to be filled up in faith.
  • It's a time to ask Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins.

My Thoughts
  • It's not a religious ritual, so don't make it one. God wants a relationship with you, He is not religious.
  • You can take communion by yourself or with others. You don't have to do it at a church, but you can!
  • It can be done anywhere. You can take it at church, work or even in the comfort of your own home.
  • It can be done daily, and God encourages us to do so. He wants to hear from us! You don't have to wait until you go to church on the weekend to take communion.
  • Use whatever food and drink you have available. Grape juice/wine and a waffer are great if you have them, but if you don't, just use what you have. Apple juice and a piece of popcorn is just as effective, because God knows your heart!
